Switzerland is a small country with an area of 41,290 square kilometers bordering France, Germany, Italy, Austria and Liechtenstein (which you can see on the right hand side). Mountains and glaciers cover two thirds of Switzerland giving you some of the world’s best skiing resorts and views (for instance the Matterhorn). Besides Switzerland’s 1,554,700 cows and 63,627 farms it is the world’s most quoted country in scientific references and is the world leader within many sectors including watches (Rolex etc.), chocolate (Tobleron etc.), food processing (Nestle etc.), biotechnology and energy production. Switzerland is the only country in the world with four official languages, has its area divided into 26 cantons and is the only neutral country in Europe (it is not a member of the European Union). Switzerland is also famous for the fact that it has the UN and Red Cross headquarters. Furthermore, Switzerland is the third richest country in Europe with a population of 7.4 million people (20% being foreigners). In the report I will also cover Switzerland’s history, its untraditional government and its main industries. Finally, I will research Switzerland’s educational programs, its four official languages, its traditional foods and food brands, its world famous the people and environment.
