In our modern society we are in desperate need of rules that will prevent our world from falling apart. In order to satisfy this hunger we have created a bureaucracy of laws, which we look upon as the pillars that support our very lives. The truth, though, is that the ever-increasing amount of restrictions has risen to a number so high, that they are only maintainable, not to mention understandable, by and to experts, Despite this fact only few citizens feel that the above-mentioned laws cause a feeling of being robbed of their freedom and losing control, like puppets on a string. Several reasons could be founding this. Maybe we have become accustomed to theses bands being applied to our lives, or it could simply be explained by us agreeing to them.
Since the beginning of time, or at least since the rise of Christianity, the human race has been lying strains upon itself by following various commandments. In our religion we consider that couple of slates formed from clay, which Moses should have received in the desert as our commandments. Almost every other religion possess a collection of rules, that are similar to ours. They come in different shapes, but the message is the same: ”Obey or slip into eternal oblivion”. This finally leads us to the Ten Indian Commandments, which is supposed to be the main subject of this essay. In the following I will select the most important of them, comment upon its importance, and its effect on life today.
