Truslow Adams brought the theory of “American dream” to people’s mind in the year 1931. Truslow Adams was an American writer and historian, he wrote the famous book “Epic of America”, which was about the American dream and what it exactly meant to USA.

In his book he wrote about how that dream of a land in which life should be better and perfect for everyone, with opportunity for each “according to ability or achievement”.

(American Dream), which states, “all men are created equal” and “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”. It’s to be a promise of society that gives all citizens the life and liberty we need to peruse the life.

Anyone could move to America and have a chance at succeeding. It was one of the things that made the country stand out from others.

In recent times the American dream is not as strong as it used to be. Many people argue that it no longer exists, some say it’s dead. They believe it’s too difficult to get ahead and the system is rigged against them. Others say it’s still alive and well and that you can achieve whatever you’re truly committed to.

The myth says that “most Americans born into the lower class stay in the lower class”. When you’re born in the lower class, it’s more difficult to get up to the middle or higher class, because you don’t have the same options as the people in the higher class, example money and a good education. People in the lower class, usually don’t have the opportunity to get an education. If you don’t have any education, it excludes a lot of opportunities, to find a good job where you can earn some good money. It can be a problem if you are a single mother and must feed 2 children.
