Analyse af Jane Austens 'Pride and Prejudice'

Because it’s about the family’s pride, and the prejudice against Mr. Darcy and the other men.

In Jane Austen’s time: girls had to be married as soon as possible, and with a rich and noble man, boys inhered all the money, or most of them, and if the family didn’t got any boys, the nephew or an other close family member would inhere it. Now girls are freer, to marry who they want. It isn’t the parents who choose who they are going to marry, and they also choose when they are going to be married, if they are going to be. Nowadays girl also can inhere it. And it’s not only the boys.

Jane:

Jane is the eldest of all six sisters, she’s about 22 years old, she’s very beautiful, and she’s a tall girl, with blond hair. She is very shy, and hides her feelings well and she lives in Hertfordshire. She’s in love with Mr. Bingley, who lives in Netherfield and is very rich. But she doesn’t show her feelings for him, so he leaves.

Elizabeth:

Elizabeth is the second eldest about 20 years, she’s not so tall, she got dark hair, she very attractive, she is stubborn too, and she got a bad temper, she’s also witty, she lives in Hertfordshire and she’s in love with Mr. Darcy, who is a very rich man, who lives in Pimperly, even through she don’t show it.
