Elizabeth and Darcy are the main characters in the love-story about pride and prejudice. The two people are contradicting to one another, but as it is known opposites attract and that is just how the story between Lizzy and Darcy plays out. Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by Jane Austen but has been adapted to a film and it uses themes like social classes, love, and other contradicting elements, it also talks about how communication is important.
In the beginning of the movie, we are introduced to one the main characters of the whole story, Elizabeth Bennet and her group of siblings amongst her. This main protagonist is portrayed in the movie as a fun, smart and a nice girl, although she can be quick to judge and quite stubborn. Elizabeth is the second oldest of her five sisters. While these siblings are rather loud and noisy, Elizabeth (together with her other older sister, Jane) seems to be more laid-back and relatively cleverer than her other siblings.
Another contrary between the sisters and Elizabeth is that she does not beg for a wealthy husband like the rest of her sisters. She studies people’s characters and acknowledges that not all men are suitable for marriage just because they own a lot of money and live in large mansions or castles, she would rather have a man with good manners and someone who enjoys having fun just like herself.
