Nick seems like his care a lot about his disease and he want to tell almost anyone about it. It is like he wants to tell them, because he thinks him so special and because his mom always told him that he was. He is the only person who sees his disease, all his school mates thinks that he look normal, but that is because he looks normal outside, but he don't inside and that is the only side Nick sees. But else it is like he got to much attention as a kid, because he had that disease, and now as a teenager he misses that attention, because his mom got remarried with Thomas. And he got bullied, because he was different, but if he didn't told them they wouldn't now and that are why he got bullied in school at first then ignored.

A description of Grace:

Grace is Nick's mom, and loves her son very much. And she got remarried with Thomas when Nick was fifteen. Grace is a careful mother, she always look out for her son, counting his fingers and toes, it could be a signal to say that Nick, “you are like everyone, just a normal kid”. Or maybe it is because she can't or won't to see the disease inside and thinks that he is normal kid, but I don't think that, because she describes Nick as very special kid. When Nick got born he scarcely got pulled from her when doctor had to listen to Nicks chest with a stethoscope and that is something Grace never really is gotten over, since she always is counting his fingers and toes, again and again, and look at him for failure or something witch isn't right.
