The upbringing of children is very important for how a person’s personality becomes when he/she grows up. It is important that they get attention, but they can also get too much of it. The attention you get from your parents affects you; in a good way so well as in a bad way.
“Back to front” is a short story, written by Nicola Baker, appeared in The Three Button Trick, Flamingo, 2003.
“Back to front” is about an unusual boy named Nick, who is the main character. Nick is back to front, but only on the inside. His heart and all his organs is in the opposite side of his body, there is also a name for it, Topsy-turvy. On the outside he is normal like anybody else. There was nothing medically dangerous or consequences about Nick’s condition. Since Nick was a little boy his mother told him how he was taken from her the day he was born, he was set aside and the doctor examined him. His mother made him feel very special and different witch did it hard for him to act like the other children. Also at school Nick was convinced of his own superiority and he did emphasize his different witch made the other children hate him. Later at school he became nothing.
