Summerhill school is founded in 1921. But it's not like any other school. Here are the consepts on which it was based:
Where kids have freedom to be themselves.
Where success is not defined by academic achievement, but by the child's own definition og success.
Where the whole school deals democratically with issues, with each individual having an equal right to be heard.
Where you can play all day if you want to.
Where there is time and space to sit and dream.
They also mean that children only learn what they want to learn. The children who attend the school do therefore not have any obligation to attend. The 95 pupils are between 5 and 18 years old and lives at the school.
