Summary of 'Clara's Day' by Penelope Lively

I’m going to give a summary of a short story called; Clara’s Day by Penelope Lively.

The story begins with a girl who name is Clara Tilling. She is 15 and half years old and she comes from a divorced home.

Well, the story really begins with; that she is going nude through the school. She walks totally naked through the school assembly, when everyone in the place looks at her. Her clothes were already ready to be taken off. The only thing she had to do was that; taking off her blouse and undo the zipper of her skirt.

And then the Head wanted to talk with her. The same day Clara had to catch the bus, but she was waiting for the bus, just to be sociable. When the bus came she got on her bus. The bus stopped and Clara had to take off the bus, while coming down the stairs of the bus, she had to hold her skirt in case it blew up.

Her mother were always home, because she is a dentist receptionist, she only worked part time.

She could work, when it suits her, but most of the time she were home about the afternoons, because her boyfriend Stan (who is an actor) was only free on the afternoons.
