Summary of 'Molly's Pilgrim'

Referat af molly’s pilgrim.The film is about molly that is a Jewish girl from Russia. Her and her parents moved from Russia because their family was persecuted for being Jewish. After having moved from Russia they moved to New York, but Molly’s Father hadn’t got a good job in New York. So they moved to Winter Hill. There Molly’s father has got a good job at a bakery. Molly goes to school in Winter Hill, but she doesn’t like it because the other children bully her because she talks funny. So she goes home to her mother and cries. The next day they read about Thanksgiving and pilgrims, and the others in her class laugh of her because she doesn’t know what it is. Then they must make a pilgrim doll of a cloth pin and bring it to school. Molly goes home and when she gets home her mother asks if she has got any homework, and she says that she shall make a pilgrim doll. Molly’s mom doesn’t know what a pilgrim is, so Molly explains it to her. Molly’s mom says that Molly just can go play and she will make the doll. Next day Molly goes down in the kitchen and the doll is done, it has blond hair and a lovely dress. But Molly doesn’t think it looks like the pilgrim in the book. Then she puts in it a paper bag. In school the other children give their pilgrims and Indians to miss. Stickl. But is afraid to give the doll because she thinks Miss Stickle will be mad at her. The other children laugh at her when she walks with the doll to the desk. Then Miss Stickle asks why it look like a Russian. Molly explains that it should look like her mother, she was modern pilgrim. Then the story ends with Molly get a friend and they got taken a picture together.
