I want to tell you about the segregation and slavery history in USA.

I find the topic very interesting, because I think it is a very important, maybe the most important part of USA history.

Slavery:

The Slavery started in early 1600’s.

The European settlers in America had a lot of work but not many people to do the work, to solve the problem they brought slaves from Africa to do the work. Thousand of slaves were put on boats and shipped to America. Often diseases spread among the slaves; about every 5th slave didn’t survive the voyage.

When the slaves arrived in America they were sold like animals and taken to new homes where they were forced to work.

The slaves had a horrible life in America, the settlers had hard rules about their life, they even couldn’t speak their mother tongue and they were punished if they broke a rule.

The fight against slavery:

The fight against slavery started in 1860 when Abraham Lincoln was elected as the president, he was against slavery, his intention was to fight slavery and make it illegal but the southern state was against it, and wanted to secede from the union. That was the beginning of the American civil war.
