The big adventure

It was a brand new day for me. I woke up, feeling rather good. My owner was gonna take me for a walk in the park, which we usually did in the mornings. But today was special, it was my birthday! I’m turning 2 years old, so instead of going to the park, my owner took me to the beach, I was pretty excited, because I’ve never been to the beach before, it was my very first time. My owner, Mariah, has told me there would be a lot of other dogs, so I was really excited about going, even though I’m not so big, and there might be other big dogs, I was still excited about meeting other dogs. We went out the door, but in leash. Mariah was talking to me all the way to the beach, I don’t know how long it took to get there, but it felt like 40 minutes! We finally arrived at the beach, and Mariah took off my leash. I ran as fast as I could down to the water, I had to feel the ocean. But as I ran down to the ocean another dog came from the other side. It ran pretty fast towards me, and I began to think, whether I should keep running, or if I should stop, and let the other dog pass by. I decided to stop, but then the dog just kept running towards me, I looked at Mariah but she didn’t see me, so I ran away from the dog, because it was a little bit bigger than me, and it had no owner behind it. I finally decided to stop and then see if the other dog did too. The other dog stopped too. ‘’Why are you running after me’’ I asked as nice as I could. ‘’I wanted to play with you, but you kept running away from me. It seems like you’ve never been to the beach before, is that true?’’ the other dog asked me. ‘’no my owner has never taken me to the beach we’ve always gone to the park so I can play in the grass with my other friends that I’ve known for awhile’’ I said. ‘’But would you like to play, with me and my friends? My name is Zoe, what’s your name?’’ she asked me. ‘’My name is Coco, and I’m turning 2 today. How old are you?’’ I asked her. ‘’I’m 2 as well, but do you want to play cause I don’t think I’ll be here much longer?’’ she told me. We ran over to her other doggie friends, and her owner had a Frisbee we could play with, it was like fetching, it was rather fun. Suddenly another dog, a big one, comes over and catches our Frisbee. We told him to give it back but instead he said: ‘’I’ll only give it back to you, if me and my friends can play with you!’’. We didn’t know what to do, because we didn’t want them to play with us, but we wanted our Frisbee back. We decided to talk in a group. ‘’what are we supposed to do, we don’t want to play with them, but they won’t give back our Frisbee if we don’t let them play?’’ Lola said. I began to think. ‘’what if we tricked them to think we want to play with them, but we won’t throw the Frisbee to them?’’ I said. ‘’how are you going to do that?’’ Cooper asked. ‘’You’ll see’’ I told him. So my plan was to basically, keep throwing the Frisbee further and further away, until they were that far that we could run away from them, but I was unsure if it was going to succeed. We started the game. I threw the Frisbee and the other dogs came further away, looked like my plan was going correctly. Until some of my friends began to catch the Frisbee, I barked at them. They went away, and my plan began again. They went further away, and as they were far enough, we ran away with the Frisbee. But then what we didn’t expect was that they had figured us out, and had other friends to come after us. We were surrounded by dogs! There was NO way out! We had to give them our Frisbee. ‘’give me your Frisbee and get back to your owners!’’ said the biggest dog of them all. I threw the Frisbee to him, he got it, and ran away with his friends. We were all terrified and felt bad. Zoe ran back to her owner and so did the rest of the dogs. I felt really bad about giving this Frisbee away, but I didn’t want to fight with that big dog. I went back to Mariah and we went home, and went to my bed, and went to sleep. I thought about today, and how it didn’t turn out the way I wanted to, but had a little fun with Zoe.
