Ending - An amish adventure

The chair was empty - the complete opposite of Ian’s mind. Ian’s head was full of thoughts, and he was more confused, than he had ever been. “What are you up to?”, Reuben asked with his strain little mouth and flippant voice. “Nothing, I’m probably still in shock, I was in a car accident, you know. I’m a little tired.”, Ian quickly responded, while taking a bite of the beautifully arranged piece of pig, that filled his plate. “Where’s Daddy?”, Sarah asked kindly with her childish voice, and the kindest expression. A bit of time went by, before her aunt answered. It was clear, that she thought a lot about how to say the right thing. “Daddy….. He’s not here right now, but he will be. Trust me.”, Aunt Lydia answered Sarah. Sarah’s smile and face-expression changed. Young she was, but she was clever. She read between the lines, and she understood, that there was something wrong. Her quiet childish voice whispered, “in Ordnung”, she said with her German voice. After that conversation, the room became quiet. The atmosphere was pressured and intense. The words still filled the room, and nobody had the courage to break it. After a little while Aunt Lydia said, “This food tastes good, well done.” She had the courage to break the bad mood in the room. It was bravely done, but it wasn’t returned. “Yes”, The quiet crowd answered, with a touch of german language. After a while, the door shut open. Ian thought that it was a relief, that the atmosphere finally changed. It was Jack. Completely drunk, the bald man stepped into the old school room. He grabbed the saucepan, that was placed on the kitchen table. “?It's a God-awful small affair To the girl with the mousy hair But her mummy is yelling no And her daddy has told her to go.?” He yelled through the room, with a swinging and drunk voice, while having the saucepan in the other hand. “That’s David Bowie! He’s a classic! Do you know him, you amish scum?”, he said aggressively, straight up in the head of Aunt Lydia. He was so drunk. He couldn’t control his words, and he had no inhibitions. “No, I don’t. But I’m proud of who I am? You have a problem with that?”, she answered back, with a cheeky accent, none like the amish. But Jack deserved it. Jack didn’t answer Aunt Lydia, but he replaced it with an angry snarl. Jack strolled around in the kitchen and livingroom, completely drunk. The amish family as well as Ian, ignored the fact, that Jack was breaking all the amish rules, and the norm from around the community. If any of the children questioned Jack’s behaviour, Aunt Lydia made them quiet. They needed him to leave, so the peace would return to the farm. According to the old watch hanging on the wooden wall in the living room, an hour went by. But Jack wasn’t out of sight yet. He was more alive than ever before, and more provocative than ever before. Jack saw the empty chair, and began asking the ignoring crowd, sitting at the table. Nobody answered him, and completely ignored his acting and self-importance. But it didn’t do anything. Actually it did the opposite. Jack couldn’t shut up, and he continued his idiotic acting, in an even worse way. “Is your son dead? PLEASE OLD ANSWER LADY. I YOUR SON HOPE DEAD.”, Jack was so drunk, he couldn’t even formulate a sentance. That was it. Aunt Lydia got specially annoyed by that question, and nobody knew why. Not even Ian. But Aunt Lydia was annoyed, and her head was as red as a tomato. “My son’s sick. He’s upstairs. Please be quiet. Show some respect.”, she said seriously. But Jack couldn’t stop his idiotic behavior.
