Alternative. Just to make it clear, the word alternative covers a group of people. You’ve probably seen them. What makes them alternative is mostly the way they dress. It’s sort of a mix between punk, emo, and some other kinds of clothes style. And then their hair. Most of them love to cut their hair, and often it’s not symmetric and often dyes it in lots of colors. They are very relaxed in their way of living, but also very open to other people.
I have some friends, who are kind of alternative. I love being with them, because they let you be yourself no matter what. There are no limits to how weird or freaky you may be. It’s not like their personality is way different from everyone else.
They are also very creative. Many of them like taking photos and drawing and stuff like that. I respect them a lot, both because they dare to be this different, even though they know that lots of people will look at them, and judge them in many ways. But also because they always give other people the freedom, to express them self. They give people a freedom, that “normal” people have trouble giving. Like if you dye your hair, another color than brown or bleach it, if you dye your hair blue, or just dye a stripe of your hair, people will look. Not in the good way, ‘cause suddenly you’re too different. Even if it was just to try it out.
