Malcolm X was an American civil rights activist, he also fought for other parts of the world he fought for the blacks who were oppressed by the whites. His real Muslim name was Al-Hajj Malik Al-Shabazz, which he shortened to Malik Shabazz when he was traveling. Malcolm X was born Malcolm Little lived from 19 May 1925 to 21 February 1965 he was born in Omaha, Nebraska, but he grew up in Lansing. He was the fourth out of eight, but the Father also had three children from a previous marriage. His mother, Louise, was born on the island of Grenada in the British West Indies and was the daughter of a black woman who had been raped by a white man. His father, Earl Little comes from the state of Georgia. Malcolm X's father was a Baptist minister but he was also politically active. He campaigned tirelessly for the most spectacular black movement in the 1920s, the UNIA (Universal Negro Improvement Association). Malcolm X spent much time in Boston, he worked with a lot of odd jobs. He went home to Harlem, New York, where he committed petty crimes. In 1942 Malcolm coordinated the various drugs, prostitution and gambling rings. Eventually moved Malcolm and some of his buddy, back to Boston in 1946 they were arrested and convicted of burglary, and Malcolm was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment. He came out after 7 years' imprisonment. When he came out he would take his final school days, he used his time to expand his training and it was here that Malcolm's brother Reginald came to discuss his recent conversion to the Muslim religion. Reginald belonged to the religious organization Nation of Islam (Noi). Malcolm think it was exciting and began studying Islam, he also converted to Islam. After Malcolm joined the Black Muslims in Detroit, he also changed his surname Little with X. X symbolized the true African family name that the slaves had been replaced by the white slave owners. In such a way that X is a symbol attached to the black Muslims together. As the movement grew, and by a temple was more of the same name, fortified Mon Xs with numbers so that for example the third James was called James 3X. Elijah Muhammad continued kneading Malcolm that he should bear that name to the day when God Himself returned and would give him the sacred name of his own mouth. Malcolm X was killed by a shot in Harlem New York 21 February 1965.
