Many people have heard about it, lots of people use it virtually every day and yes it’s Facebook I’m talking about. It’s a internet website which being used by millions of peoples from all over the world. Facebook is a clear prove that adults is getting controlled by the same thing like the teenagers have Arto, Diod and other social websites. People are getting attracted by it because it allows peoples to snoop and gossip. That’s why the online websites has come to stay. But at the same time is there some people who don’t see the interesting about a social website like that where peoples can share everything with each other and see what other people are doing at the moment. I think it’s a very cool communications tool and I’m using it myself, but of course can I understand other people worries about that it maybe allows peoples to get a bit to close on each other’s private life.
You should really think about what you want to share with your friends and other people. Other peoples have also got access to your profile which is the reason to some peoples isn’t feeling so safe about having an Facebook profile because you can get the feeling that someone is spying on you. You can also chose to change some settings so your Facebook profile is getting more secured. I don’t think everybody knows that because they don’t want to share everything with everybody, so they don’t want to waste time on that. Another reason to that some peoples won’t use Facebook can be because that there is too many advertisements. There is some sites where there is the craziest things and quiz’s, but that isn’t exact the thing there bother me. I mentioned earlier that Facebook is a kind of Arto for adults. It has for me a important meaning for the understanding about Facebook. Arto is a website for teenagers, where they can chat with eachother, post comments on ex. Pictures. But It gives another factor: That it gives competition for having most friends. The teenagers is using the word “friendship” more weaken than before. It could be ex. If you asked a teenager how many friends he/she had then would a typical answer be about 200 – 300 which is pretty many friends. Friends online isn’t the same like earlier days and there isn’t getting distinctions between “good friends”, “friends”, “random persons” and “a guy/girl I’ve met once”. It’s all been putted into one category called “Friends”. The same thing is happening on Facebook, just a bit different. The teenagers on Arto is doing it for competition and is they way to say “look at how popular I am” and for showing how many contacts they have got. Even I’ve got about 210 Facebook friends, but I won’t be able to call each of them a friend. There is acquaintance, good friends, friends etc. between them. What I’m trying to say is that having many Facebook or/and Arto friends is brand new and is an exciting factor and a huge part of Facebook. Besides that friends are a new factor, which fills a big part for the teenagers like for the adults, is Facebook also helping with getting an overlook at peoples. I personally like, that I can have all my relations at one place, no matter if it is “real friends” and “acquaintance”.
