Nelson Mandela´s real name is Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela. Son of chief Henry Mandela, from the xhosa strain. He got eduacated from the University collage of Fort Hare and university of Witwatersrand. Nelson Mandela’s birthday is on the 18 July 1918, and this year he is 93 years old.
He got arrested in August, 1962 and got released the 11 February, 1990. That means he was 27 years in prison.
Nelson Mandela stands as the symbol for the fight against, and the settlement of the apartheid regime in South Africa.
27 years in prison was the price that the South Africans’ first black president had to pay for his fight against the white´s minority’s racist and race divided settlement of the country.
But because of the long way to freedom, for both Mandela and the black South Africans, they succeeded to create the right support; and thus the necessary pressure on the white settlement, so that they could set him free from his prison.
For millions of people, Nelson Mandela is the symbol of justice and perseverance, an icon of peace, also for the people in Denmark and as well as the rest of the world.
His life has influenced our lives very much; if it weren’t for Nelson Mandela the black people would probably still live separated from the white. But because of Nelson Mandela the white and the black people live in peace with each other.
