I choose this topic because of my family background, my grandmother she used to live in South Africa during the apartheid, and Nelson changed her view on black people. I also chose it because of a personal interest in Nelson Mandela, and because of film and books that I have seen and read.

Nelson Mandela was a black political activist in South Africa during the apartheid. He became the first democratically elected president in 1994. He formed the ANC youth league in his 20’ies with Oliver and Walter. Their purpose was to get equality. They wanted one man, one vote. They wanted to share the country, and live side by side in peace with the whites, coloured, Indians and blacks. Another part of their politic was the fist that you see on my outline. They said that alone, you are too little to do anything, but together we have the power. They said that they didn’t want to use violence, but they ended up doing that, after years of frustration. The difference between the ANC and the other parties was that the other parties killed people. The ANC bombed two buildings, only one died, and he was one of their own. This was of course a loss too, but their intention wasn’t to kill anybody.
