The story ’’The Dress’’ is written by Julia Darling in 2006 and it is a novelle. It is about a mother and her two daughters, Rachel and Flora. I think Rachel is the oldest sister, because Flora describes her as pretty and smart and it sounds like she is looking up to her. The conflict in the text is Rachel’s dress. The dress is made of thin silk. It is weightless, elegant and light green with golden ribbons around the hem and the neck. Flora was going out for dinner with her friend Alberto. She took the dress, without asking Rachel. Properly because she knew that Rachel would say no. Maybe Flora is a little jealous, because she thinks Flora is pretty and smart. That day it is their mother’s birthday and they are going out for dinner. Then Rachel and Flora starts fighting about the dress. Flora says that she does not know were the dress is, and will not admit that she took it. When they came home, Rachel calls her father and wants to move. Flora starts crying and admits that she took it. She had spilled on the dress at the restaurant with Alberto and she had not the courage to give it back to her sister.
