The states nickname is Silver State because there use to be a lot of silver mines, the mines are still there but they are empty now. Nevada is the 7th largest state in America based on area. It measures 519 km in its width and 788 km in its length.
Las Vegas is the most popular city in Nevada. People come from all over the world to see the city. It is mostly known for its gambling, shopping and its beautiful buildings. Las Vegas calls itself “The entertainment Capital of the World”. It is built in the mojaven desert. Las Vegas is the 28th most popular city in America. There are around 558,383 people who live in Las Vegas.

The American military base, Area 51 is located in Nevada. The base is used for research in new weapons and planes. But people say that inside Area 51 they have frozen Aliens, space ships and time machines. It is located in the Mojaven desert near Groom Lake. You cannot get close to Area 51 because it is property of the American military. If you get very close into the area they have permission to shoot you. But if you just cross the border then you will just get a fine.
