Arizona Facts: Arizona is a state located in the South western U. S. It has a population of 6,392,017 people, making it the nation's 16th-largest state by population, and covers 113,998 square miles making it the 6th-largest state by total land area. The capital of Arizona is Phoenix, and is also the biggest city. The official language is English, but the Arizonian public also speaks Spanish. Arizona borders 4 other states: New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, and California, and has an international border with Mexico. The name Arizona comes from the Indian word “arizonac”, which means "place by the small spring."
