Oscar Wilde: 'The Selfish Giant' og 'The Devoted Friend'

When the Giant looks out of his bedroom window his heart meltes.

When the Giant puts the little boy up into the tree it become spring, the tree broke into blossom and the birds begins to sing.

I think the little boy is an angel or something like that, because he says: Today you shall come with me to my garden, which is paradise.

When the Giant sends the children away it became winter, the spring never came back and the children get scared af the Giant.

He likes the little boy best because the little boy kissed him.

The Giant means that the children is beautiful like flowers because they saved him from being selfish.

I think he means that the children saved the love in the garden.

I think the children came back to the garden every day after school and played with each other. They looked after and take care of the garden and they were very sad because the Giant was dead.

The Devoted Friend:

The Water-rat’s idea of the duties of a devoted friend is that his devoted friend should be devoted to him and he isn’t going to give anything back.

I’m not agree, because if you have a devoted friend you have to be it too.
