I can read between the lines that children give happiness. I can see it when the garden gets lights and colours when they play in the garden. The giant realize after he had built a wall around the garden that was children who gives live and make the garden beautiful. I think that the giant was used to be alone and that is why he chooses to build a wall.
Even though it is a short story, there are many elements of a fairy tale. The giant himself. Other element is the number seven, we hear that he had been out travelling for seven years. Another example is objects and animals get the abilities as a human.
Narration
The narrator is third person because the narrator uses “he” and “she” in the short story. The narrator is an omniscient narrator because he describes how the people feel. An example from the text “But the children said that they did not know where he lived, and had never seen him before; and the giant felt very sad.” It telling us how the giant feel.
The narrator do voicing his own opinions because hi had chose to call the giant selfish. It shows what the narrator thinks about the giant.
