Romeo + Juliet: filmresumé og alternativ slutning

‘Romeo + Juliet’ is a movie based on the famous play by Shakespeare. The Montagues and the Capulets hate each other. One day the Capulets have a party and Romeo (a Montague) goes to the party masked. He meets Juliet (A Capulet) and they fall in love unaware of their names. They have to hide their love from the rest of the world because they know that their families wouldn’t approve of it. They get married without anybody knowing about it. Romeo meets Tybalt one day and Tybalt wants to fight. Romeo doesn't want to fight because of his love for Juliet. But when Tybalt kills Romeo's good friend Mercutio, Romeo kills Tybalt. Romeo is then banned from Verona and gets help from Father Laurence. When Juliet finds out that her parents want her to marry Paris, she gets help from Father Laurence. She drinks a special poison that would make her seem dead for 2 days and when she wakes up she's supposed to meet with Romeo. However the plan doesn't go as they want it to because Romeo thinks that she really is dead, he never got the information Father Laurence sent him. He buys poison for himself and goes to the chapel where Juliet lies. He kisses her one last time and then kills himself. While he is dying, Juliet is waking up. When she sees that he's dead she kills herself. In the end Captain Prince tells both families that it's because of their feud that Romeo and Juliet are now dead.
