Resumé af 'Romeo and Juliet'

The story is about, two powerful families the Montagues and the Capulets, they have been fighting against each other for years. They are living in Italy, Verona.

Lord Capulet holds a party, which he invites all his friends, everybody were welcome, except the Montagues. Romeo, his cousin and Mercutio Romeo’s friend, are going to the party disguised by masks. Romeo meets a young girl named Juliet, Old lord Capulet’s daughter, they fells in love with each other and they don’t care about whom they are. Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin, had recognized Romeo and would have killed him, but old lord Capulet stopped him.

Romeo and Juliet are secretly married, the day after the party.

One day Tybalt meets Romeo and he wants to fight, Tybalt beats Romeo up, but Romeo wouldn’t fight against him, because he was Juliet’s cousin, but Mercutio tried to defend Romeo, but he fell. Romeo, who was angry, killed Tybalt, when the bad news came to the Prince, he banished Romeo from Verona. When Juliet heard that, she was crying constantly. And the other bad news was she should marry the young man Paris. Juliet consults with Friar Laurence. He gives her a poison, when she had drank it she will look like she were death, but it would just hold in 24 hours, in that time he will, give Romeo a message. Romeo doesn’t get the message, but his friends come and tell him, he goes to the Capulets burial vault, and he takes a poison with him, he looks at his wife and drinks the poison, but in that moment he drinks it, Juliet awakes from the effect of the poison, she takes the pistol and shoots herself in the head.
