English Abstract

This assignment looks at the Cuba Crisis in 1962. The purpose of this assignment is to discuss and rate how close the world came to a nuclear war between USA and the Soviet Union. The assignment gives a course off the crisis. During the exposition of this course the assignment involves of Kennedy's speech on 22 October the 1962nd. The speech is analyzed to provide insight into how the speech affects its audience. And it turns out that Kennedy had good rhetorical instruments in his speech. After the analysis of the speech, the assignment pulls in the movie "Thirteen Days" and a text by Ted Sorensen who was President Kennedy's close adviser. The purpose of the film and the text is to make a comparative analysis of the two sources. During examination of the sources, it is assessed which of the two sources are most credible. Furthermore the assignment also examines how close to reality film "Thirteen Days" is. The assignment ends in concluding that the film really is so close to reality that it can be used as teaching in the history of the Cuba crisis. But if you must have complete control over the historical facts, it would be preferable to pick Ted Sorensen’s text or another historical source.
