It all started July 2nd, when a big spaceship with aliens flew in over the earth. Everyone was surprised and scared, because there wasn’t anyone who knew what they wanted, but they were sure that it wasn’t good. What should they do against these terrible monsters?
The president already had a big pressure on him, because the population was in doubt of his capabilities. Was he too young for this powerful and demanding job? Could he live up to the expectations? Those were the questions, and he had to prove that he was the right one, and that they had voted right. So he started to calm down the population with some speeches in the news, where he tried to inspire them to be courageous. Then a clever guy named David also known as Jeff Goldblum discovered a signal, where he could follow a countdown, telling when the aliens would attack. But it was almost too late; however, the president and some of his men survived because they were airborne in Air Force One before the aliens destroyed Washington. Unfortunately there were a lot of the population who died.
David had been married to the president’s assistant Connie, and he had actually hit the president because he thought he and Connie had had an affair. That was the reason for this very tense relationship between him, the president and Connie. David and Connie still loved each other, even though they would not admit it, but in the end of the movie, they got together again.
