Kunta Kinte was born in 1750. When he got older he should prepare to be a mandinka, with some other boys, to become a man. Kunta Kinte was very brave. Kunta had never seen white men before, and was afraid of them through some stories. A normal day at the mandinka where he was, he saw the white men, and become very afraid, and then he told the other from the mandinka that the white men was here, but then the mandinka got over, Kunta Kinte and the other boys went home again, back to their family. He was a man now! One day should Kunta Kinte make a drum for his younger brother. But sadly came the white men, and they caught Kunta and many other niggers. He and others were put on a slave ship for the three-month voyage from Africa. Kunta survived the trip to Maryland and was sold to a Virginia plantation owner, Master Waller. Master Waller gave Kunta another name: “Toby” but Kunta rejects the name by his owner. He refuses to talk to people and always thinks about escaping to Africa. After being apprehended during the last of his four escape attempts, the slave catchers gave him a choice, he can be castrated or have his right foot cut off. He chooses to have his foot cut off, and the slave catchers cut off the front half of his right foot. Kunta will never forget who he was, were he came from and off course his religion (Islam). Kunta Kinte married a slave, named Belle Waller, they got a child, Kizzy which in Kunta’s land means “to stay put”. When she got older she got a best friend, named Missy Anne, and she was white, Missy Anne learned Kizzy to read and write secretly. Kizzy was in love with a slave who wants to escape and to be free, Kizzy helped him, and when they caught him, he told the white men all about Kizzy’s help, and then they sold Kizzy away to North Carolina. Her new owner, Tom Lea raped her and is now father to her only son, George Lea. One day Kizzy visited the Reynolds plantation later in life. Then she discovers that her mother was sold to another plantation and her father died too years after. When they got older, George was married to another slave, Matilda, they’ve got three children, the oldest one was Tom, and he was like Kunta Kinte, very brave.
