Roots episode 1 noter

Episode I It starts out in a local african tribe i gambia 1750 where local woman is having labour and giving birth to a little boy . his father's name is Omoro . The father is doing a name ritual giving the boy the name kunta kinte. In England they are planning a slave trade to gambia. fast forward kunta kinte is ca. 15 years old and is waiting for his manhood trials doing daily work. In England they are preparing to sail to gambia to get slaves. In gambia kunta has been taking to undergo the rituals to become a man. in the woods of gambia kunta kinte is undergoing his ritual while kunta is undergoing his rituals the englishmen has said sail The captain of the ship is asking the cargo leader questions about the slaves. It's his first voyage. in the woods the men are undergoing the rituals and they are learning to wrestle and other things that are needed to be a man. Kinte has been given the task of catching a bird while hunting the bird he runs into some a family. (OJ simpson) After that he catches the bird he sees white men carrying slaves and he runs back to his tribe to warn them. after he warns them they are have completed their trials and now are circumcised and return home as men. While outside his home looking for a log to build a drum his captured by slave trades. Later he is joined by the daughter of Oj’s family While on the boat the slaves are forced to dance on board while they were dancing they sang a threatening song. A slave died and was throwed of the ship The captain is regretting taking on the voyage The cargo leader Mr. Slate brought a slave women to the captian as a gift
