I choose this topic because i thought it would be interes5ng to see if racism s5ll exist to this
day. I’m a white privileged male living in Denmark in 2024. and I haven’t experienced any
form of racism. So would it be wrong for me to say that racism doesn’t exist just because I
haven’t experienced it.
So I thought to myself how do I experience racism how do I put myself in their shoes, and
the easiest way to do that would be to learn about their past.
The history of slavery
So to start of I would like to tell you about the history of racism. And I’m going to cut it very
short the reason being I only have 7 minutes so if there’s any holes that’s why.
So with that being said. I’m going to take you back to America in the late 1700 hundreds.
Because in the late 1700 hundreds slavery was a common thing but northern states were
star5ng to become more industrial while the southern states leaned more towards
agriculture. And agriculture is a more labor intensive work, so the economy was
extremely dependent on slave labor
And then in 1776 the declara5on of independe was passed and the main points were
