To the Minister of Justice
I am writing to you to show my support to the restrictions against violent computer-games, that You are going to implement in the future. In my opinion the ideas are really good.
To bring the restrictions to reality is a good idea. It will remove violence from places where children under eighteen are present. But if you restrict everyone under eighteen from buying video games, I am afraid, that they will just ask their parents or older friends to buy them. This could create a huge problem concerning disrespect to the restrictions.
That you want to monitor our computers is in my view also a really good idea. But the question is: What if young people don’t want to be restricted and avoid the monitoring? What if they don’t respect the interference in their personal life? That could cause a second blow to the restrictions.
I strongly feel that the last restriction you want to make is a bit silly. How do want to prevent juveniles to play alone in their room? I don’t think this restriction will make any difference, unless it is upheld by the parents. A restriction like this will probably have the opposite effect, because it conflicts with the parents right to govern there own house.
