This is an article about a boy, who shot 20 students at the Dawson College. The young man is named Kimveer Gill. He was a student at the Dawson College, one day he went in and started shooting his fellow students. He killed one, and wounded 19. Kimveer choice to shot himself in the head after the police had shot him in the arm.
Kimveer was a big fan of a computer game named “Columbine Massacre” a computer game, which was built over a similar unprovoked attack on a university in Colombia in 1999.
Now the question is, if the reason he did it was because of heavy metal and computer games with violence in. Personally I think that it’s stupid and a sort of ignorant to think that. Because if that was the case, then it would mean that half the boys in a regular school would shot people on a regular basis, but I do think that computer games can give inspiration to crazy people like Kimveer.
I think that a big part of the blame can be put on the weapon industry in U.S.A., if everybody can get a weapon then things like this is bound to happened. Kimveer wasn’t the first person to do something like this, and his probably not the last. Brenda Ann Spencer did something a similar to this, but I’ve never heard that she played violent games, but what’s similar is that they both had weapons.
