Capital/Squre kilometres: Fiji is a group of 322 islands, 106 of which are inhabited, surrounding the Koro Sea in the South Pacific Ocean. It has two main islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Leva. Viti Levu covers about half of Fiji area, and nearly three quarters of the populatin.. Vanua Leva takes a third of the land. It is about 2100 km north of New Zealand. Fiji's total land area is 18,272 square km. Suva is the largest city. It's also the capital! It's on the southeast coast, of Viti Levu.
Inhabitants: In Fiji there are approximately 900,000 inhabitants. It has a mix of culturally diverse people. This is a place where a traveler finds kindhearted citizens known as Fiji islanders who are descendants of other great travelers from Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, Samoa, Ionga, Rotuma, Kirabatis, the Cook Islands, India, China, Europe, the Americans, Australia, and New Zealand. The general impression Fiji Islanders put forth is that there's room for everything and everyone. Even the tourist is needed and welcomed.
Nature/ Landscapes: Rainfall are in large part responsible fro the variety of vegetation here. The wetter sides af the high islands are heavily forested, with occasinal thickets of bamboo. Natural forrests cover 40% of Fiji’s total land area and about a quarter af these forests are classified as produktion forest suitalbe for logging. Coconut groves at the coast, and on the drier sides, there are open savanna with grass. The larger islands originated from volcanoes, but the smaller ones are coral reefs. There is very little level ground in the Fiji Islands. The chief rivers are the Rewa, the Ba, the Navua, and the Dreketi.
