Everybody knows about the fabulous country, known for The Pyramids and the Sahara Dessert. But many of the people, who visit Egypt, don’t explore the culture and all the famous monuments. Most Western tourist goes to Egypt to relax, get served and for lying down beside the pool all day long. It’s fine to relax, but it’s not the way you should see the country.
In the end of March 2010, my dad, my stepmom, stepsister, uncle and myself, flew to the Egyptian city, Luxor. I was really looking forward to this experience, because of the things I’ve heard about the country and because of our sightseeingplan. First we would go to Luxor, then we will be driven through the Sahara, and we will end in the capital of Cairo.
On the first hand, we went to Luxor to see the Farao Graves in the Valley of the Kings and walking through the world’s biggest temple, Luxor Temple. The day we experienced Kings Valley, was a very exciting and a special day. It was hot and dry, so it was nice to go underground, and take a look on the famous chests. Next day, we went over the River Nile, and into the Luxor Temple. The temple was absolutely massive, and the tourist, guides and sellers, was as many as the population of Denmark! Luxor is though a tourist city, and about the half of the population are street sellers or unemployed. Egypt is a very poor country, which you sometime look through because of the fantastic architecture.
