Jack’s father tells him to get out of his house but Jack, who mostly reflects on his environment, don’t care: He’s going to get married to his girlfriend, Katy, who he meets through a little movie theatre. Just before Jack meets Katy he has attended to high school. He tells that it’s because, his mother has told him “that anybody can rise up to be the President of the United States” which he in the following line states is a lie. After the high school the narrator gets a job at the same place as where he meets the beautiful Katy. Apparently Katy falls in love with Jack

but not opposite and after few dates they are together. He has an unfortunate meeting with Katy’s family, realizes that he gets bored with his friends and evidently he feel caught between two stones.

At a time at work Jack sees Katy in a Cadillac just outside honking at him. He decides to leave work forever to go with her to Fountain Lake which they wanted in a long time.
