In Denmark many families like watching talent shows. In recent times talent shows have become a genre of reality television, such as “The Voice”, “The Talent DK” and “The X Factor”. A talent show is an event, where participants perform talents of singing, dancing, acrobatics, acting, playing instruments and other activities to show skills, sometimes for a reward, trophy or prize. Each family member chooses his favorite, roots, and votes for him or her. If your favorite wins the final, you are very glad to see them happy. The winner could use this chance as a catapult from amateur artist to become a star and successful careers.
The most popular show in Denmark is “X Factor”. This program is a copy of the program from USA and Great Britain. Hundreds of people meet up to three different groups: young under 18, adults and bands. The judges of this show are famous and well-known singers, producers and actors. I find the auditions really funny most of the time, and I really like to see the show. Some of the participants have amazing voices and some you would definitely need earplugs. I think that it is a good way for people to fill out their dreams, but I think the audition process is fake. Many drop out of the game after the first round. Some of them could be very sad and cry. Others take the news with a smile. We don´t know how they feel, what they think, and maybe their confidence could be lost forever. It does change life.
