Reinventing the internet: a personal reflection

If one day the internet crashed and I had to help remake the whole think, then I would probably make the same way as it is today. The search machines that we have now are fine the way they are. They shouldn’t be changed because there wouldn’t be a point to change something that works. And I don’t think that there should be anything removed from it either. The internet is like a free place where you can give your opinion, and in a way the last free place where you can express yourself. Wait maybe there is one thing that I might consider removing and that is the really annoying pop-ups that pop-up all the time. And oh yeah… all the virus and Trojans, back-door traps, keyloggers, worms and such will be removed too. That way, it would be a lot easier to download things without always being afraid of what else you might download. And that brings us to the subject of downloading. I guess that I have a double moral toward this subject. In one way it’s wrong to download programs, since people actually does make a living that way. But then again… what’s up with putting the prices that high? Think about it… first you need the money to buy the computer/laptop that you want, and if it has to be used as something more than just a typewriter, you need to pay a lot of money (around 8000 – 15000 kr). And then you need a program to write in. Most people prefer Microsoft programs as a writing tool and to be able to buy office you need to pay too (around 1500-4000 kr). Then is the question about, what program to use to watch DVD on the computer. Again you need to pay money. In the end you end up using a lot of money on programs. So in some cases, downloading a program is alright. And about the music, think of it this way… whenever an artist sends out an album that makes the charts, those persons gets famous. Besides that they want our money too. They are robbing us for our money and still we adore them. That’s just not right. So file sharing over the internet, sharing all the music that you have with other people… not a problem. It should be a legal thing. Getting a little of course here… but I still think that if we had to reinvent the internet there should be some changes in the downloading part. More open in a way.
