Denne opgave præsenterer en karakterskitse af Kath fra et teaterstykke. In this play, you can’t write about one of the characters without involving the other, but I have chosen to focus on Kath.

Kath is in her early twenties and in a relationship with Danny who also is twenty something years.

In the beginning of the text Kath seems insecure and scared. For her the “bogey man” is an abstract creature that comes to destroy her.

“I mean a person, moron. On the outside. But inside …… rage” (page 49, line 81 and 83)

It seems to me that, by the way Kath describes the creature, she can’t really personalize it as a human, but projects it to an undefined creature where she …”can’t see his face.” (page 50, line 107-108)

As I said in the beginning, you can’t describe one without mentioning the other. Because Danny has a big role in Kath’s development, which I will try to describe further on.

When Kath has described the “creature”, Danny is being very provocative and teases her by continuing describing it.

He’s clearly doing it by exaggeration. At first Kath gets very upset by it, and asks Danny why he is being so nasty. Clearly not ready to get out of her safe world, where young girls aren’t allowed to be bad.
