I think the poem is great and it shows us in a good way, what happens to a lot of people, when they are bored. You can just sit and stare in to a wall, saying nothing, while a dozen of thoughts start running crazy, and your imagination seems to run away with you. The poem says that he can see a dragon blowing smoke rings and that there is a peacock on his sneakers, which is clearly something he is visualizing.

To suffer by boredom, is one of the most deadly dulls. Looking out in the sky, saying nothing, but noticing every thing around me. Every single hair on my arm, every single detail on my ripped jeans, every single scratch on the chair. I feel bored almost every day, just for a minute or two. It is boring waiting – at the bus, for people to reply my emails, slow Internet, advertisements to end. Listening to music and having my own party in my head, typically helps me every time to overcome the boringness.

With the poem I think the writer, Jack Prelutsky, is trying to show us, how the world is becoming. Many people are getting more and more antisocial, living in their own digital world and would rather use their time on the computer instead of using time with people in the real world. There are so many exciting things going around all over the world, every single day. But we choose to sit for ourselves with an iPhone or computer in front of us, because we are getting 'bored'.
