The poem written by Jack Prelutsky is a very relative poem for every living human being. He’s writing about his boring life, as it was in black and white. He’s in his own little world, his own little BORING world. Every day is the same, eat, sleep, work. The world is going around while our lives is standing still. I often feel bored and it’s absolutely horrible. I’m a girl who always needs to be busy with something, friends, work, dance or music. I can’t sit still and do absolutely nothing. My life is not as boring as it was only 8 months ago. My dad was sick for three years, diagnosed with cancer. Every day was the same. Going to the hospital was a daily routine for me. Him getting hospitalized was a weekly routine, and my life was just standing still for three years. Sleep, eat, school, hospital. The daily routine was killing me. I just walked around doing absolutely nothing. There’s really nothing to do at the hospital, you just sit and watch people in pain. I couldn’t stop thinking about how my dad must have felt. Knowing that it all was gonna be over soon, knowing that this life was his only one and last life, leaving family and memories behind. I got over my boredom by putting myself in his place. I would rather be bored than never get the chance to be bored again. I still don’t think that I have overcome it, and I don’t think that it will ever happen. Boredom is depended on what you like to do. And when you know that it’s not possible to do the things that keeps you occupied, you automatically get bored.
