The intended reader would be people who are interested in modernism. I would say of people at my age should go read a book about modernism I would recommend this book. I like how Chris Rodrigues and Chris Garratt mix up the text with a couple of pictures, it makes the book more understandable and interesting.

Basically most of the text is built up from fact about modernism. They use ethos by quoting D.H Lawrence, and reefing to artist from the modernism. They do not use pathos, the appeal to emotion with emotional language, passion and a personal angel. The reason why they do not use pathos is because it is a learning guy. It is not based on feelings, or personal experiences which can affect the text.
