Modernism is a new way of thinking. It occur in, art, music, literature, architecture, etc.

The text “Modernism a graphic guide” is about what modernism is, and how it occurred. Chris Rodrigues and Chris Garratt, the authors of the book, explore the definition of being a modernist, and the artist in the modernism.

The topic is modernism, and the text is about the last century. The text is informative, and you can almost say that it is an exploration of the century. They investigate the century, and dig deep to inform other what the modernism is about.

The intended reader would be people who are interested in modernism. I would say of people at my age should go read a book about modernism I would recommend this book. I like how Chris Rodrigues and Chris Garratt mix up the text with a couple of pictures, it makes the book more understandable and interesting.

The writers use logos and ethos in their text. That means that text is built up by facts from the modernism and trust. It also describes some of the artists during the modernism. Basically most of the text is built up from fact about modernism. They use ethos by quoting D.H Lawrence, and reefing to artist from the modernism. They do not use pathos, the appeal to emotion with emotional language, passion and a personal angel. The reason why they do not use pathos is because it is a learning guy. It is not based on feelings, or personal experiences which can affect the text.
