Surveillance: safety versus privacy

My opinion about surveillance is very split because I can see the idea of that you much easier can document a crime because there are a CCTV camera right next to you no matter where you are. But I can also see the annoying side of the CCTV cameras, because if you just are a normal person walking on the street it is very irritating that there are cameras watching your every move. It might fells like a digital prison, because you aren’t cable of doing something, that doesn’t mind other people, because there are also cameras pointing at you. But I also believe that the cameras might stop some people from doing a crime. You don’t have the same freedom, as if there were no cameras. But on the streets isn’t the only place you are being watched, you are also being watched on the internet, and your phone calls are being heard. People can find out where in the country people use YouTube most (just an example)

The cameras do catch criminals and help prove people's innocence or if their guilty. This leads to a more stable, fair trial. It is proof, because it records things as they are. Only as they are. A camera cannot lie. If people know there are cameras around, so they know that they will be caught, so they do not commit the crime because they do not want to be arrested. It adds to justice in the courts. Instead of having the lucky lawyer who can prove your case by twisting words and argue the cameras give you the truth. People, who deserve to be punished, will be punished, and people who don’t won’t be.
