Mississippi Burning: analyse af filmens temaer

1. In the beginning of the film the three boys are stopped by the Ku Klux Klan. Why?

- Because they are members of the Civil Rights Movement. And the officers were members of the KKK.

2. Mr. Ward and Mr. Anderson work for the F.B.I. What are they doing in Mississippi?

- They are investigating the case about the three missing boys.

3. Sheriff Stuckey and deputy sheriff Pell claim the boys are/were activists and were acting on behalf of the Civil Rights Movement. Pleas explain

- They were helping the coloured getting their rights, and the Civil Rights Movement, is about, that everyone should have equal rights.

4. Mr. Ward tries to talk to a black man in the restaurant. The man is later beaten up and thrown out of a car in the main street. Why?

- Because anyone who helps, or go against the society they have made in Mississippi, are going to get beaten up or even end up dead.

5. Please explain the relationship between Mr. Anderson and Mr. Ward. Why does Mr. Anderson tell Mr. Ward the story of his father and the mule? “Poverty made this life a misery not niggers”. Please explain
