It is a movie from 1964 and it is directed by Alan Parker

The 2 main characters are 2 FBI agents Alan Ward and Rupert Anderson. Alan Ward is being play by Willem Dafoe and he is the leader of the case. He is in the middle of the thirties and wearing glasses. He takes a direct approach to the investigation and begins to hurry up to find out what is happened. He doesn’t have much experience and he does it by the book. He is grown up in a north state and don’t know much about the problems in south. Rupert Anderson is being play by Gene Hackman and he is a former sheriff in Thornton, Mississippi. His father didn’t like the black people and because of that he is grown up with hate to the black people. He comes from a little town in south USA and his parents were poor. He likes bass ball the only sport where black people can swing a bat against white people and not get charge for it. He uses his own methods and experience that he got of being a sheriff in a south state. He is fall in love in Mrs. Pell the wife to the vice sheriff.
