When FBI agents Anderson and Ward drive into Jessup, Mississippi, what do the visuals tell you about the town?
First of all, it tells me that there is a lot of racial discrimination going on in this state. The visuals show that the colored have no rights. They are getting arrested and also beaten up, even by the police. It also tells me, that KKK is prevail in this area. Also, that there is a lot of them, and that they stand together to fight the colored.
Who were the boys who were killed at the beginning and what was their history?
The boys were two whites and one negro. All three of them were civil rights activists. They were in prison but got released by the deputy, because he was a member of KKK, and he arranged for some other members to catch them. And as the boys were out driving, two cars suddenly showed up on the road and began to provoke them by driving into them and so on. The boys got scared so they drove off the road, but the cars followed them. When the men got to the boys they killed them and hid their bodies. Afterwards they took their car and dumped It in some kind of swamp. The boys were later on reported missing.
