My name is [NAVN A], and I’m a 16-year-old boy from India. I’m an exchange student in Florida in the United States.
Before I got here, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to try something new, and I wanted to experience the world I live in. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone, and meet new people, and try new things, that I hadn’t tried before.
My family supported me and told me it was a great idea. When I got here, it was a completely strange world, from what I was used to. The people were dressed differently, talked differently, the nature was different from what I was used to back in India, where I came from.
I was nervous, but also excited to experience new things and people. They were very nice to me, the first day of school, and I felt very welcome and comfortable. Nothing too much or too little.
Something I had a hard time learning, was addressing my teachers by their last name, instead of their first name. I sometimes forgot it, but most teachers were nice to me about it, because I was new, and had to learn.
