The Central Intelligence Agency is an agency of the US government whose main purpose is to monitor the activities of the other countries and address any potential threats using the CIA agents.

During the World War II, William J. Donovan was appointed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt as the first Coordinator of information and had been called Office of Strategic Service (OSS) in 1942, but then again it has been abolished after WWII.

In September 18, 1947, following WWII, President Truman signed the National Security Act, a recognition of the need for postwar: charged the CIA with coordinating US intelligence activities; correlating, evaluating and disseminating intelligence affecting US security.

The significant change during the time of George Washington on December 17, 2004 where he signed the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention and abolished the position of Director of Central intelligence and the Deputy Director of Central Intelligence DDC. DNI Director of National Intelligence, which overseas the Intelligence Community and the National Counterterrorism was also created. There were intelligence activities carried out.

CIA primary mission is to assist the President and senior US government policymakers in making decisions that relates to the national security. The process was not easy and there were many things to consider. First is to identify the problem or issue of national security concern and in some cases it is directed to study the issue- this includes the terrorist activities and plans, the biological or chemical weapons used by other countries. CIA collects information about the problem. They gather information through translation of newspapers and magazines articles, while radio and TV broadcasts provide open-source intelligence. Imagery satellites take pictures from space and make analysis, write, and reports about what they see and many other kind of analysis.
