Why euthanasia? Euthanasia is used, when an incurable person want to end his or hers life peacefully. Euthanasia makes it possible to plan your death, so family and friends can be ready. The most important argument is that you have the option to end your suffering.
Why not? Euthanasia is a very complex topic, and there is so many perspectives on it. A country cannot have if something goes wrong. There are many unanswered questions when we talk euthanasia. Who should “kill” the patient? How should we use it? And many more to follow.
Assisted suicide or euthanasia? The difference can sometimes be hard to spot, but mainly assisted suicide is when a doctor helps a person committing suicide. When we talk euthanasia it is the doctor who kills the patient, that could be with a syringe of morphine or some else. But what if the doctor just gives the patient a pill? Is that euthanasia or assisted suicide? There are many unclear zones on this topic, and that makes it all more complicated. If a patient is mentally ill, do they also have the rights to the use of euthanasia? How old do you need to be? Is okay for the public services to kill? These are some of the more ethical questions, and the hardest to answer. Do we have the right to play god? Some people have the opinion that we try to control something we should not. Is I our right to have as much control as possible? We already give life extending medicine, so why should we not control when we want to die? I think it is a step higher in our evolution, if we can make it work without mistakes. I don’t think we can make this reel right now, but hopefully in some years.
