Giv en redegørelse for omfanget af skoleskyderier i USA i de sidste 15 år på baggrund af selvfundet statistisk materiale. Vurder herunder om skoleskyderier er et reelt problem i USA.

Analyser følgende to taler: Virginia Tech Memorial Convocation Condolences Offered by President Bush og The President Delivers a Statement on the Shooting in Oregon med henblik på at påvise de to præsidenters forklaringer på skoleskyderiet i Oregon.

Desuden skal du i din analyse komme ind på retoriske virkemidler og anvende non-fiction analyse.

Sammenlign herefter disse forklaringer med andre mulige forklaringer på hvorfor skoleskyderier forekommer.

Diskuter med udgangspunkt i Michael Moores film Bowling for Columbine om skoleskyderier kan forebygges eller forhindres. Inddrag udsagnet ”It’s Not Guns, It’s Killer Kids”.

Abstract:

This assignment contains a statement, about how big a problem school shootings are in USA, over the last 15 years. By looking at different statistic, we see that school shootings in USA is a big problem and that we need to solve it right now. The analysis refers to the rhetorical modes, logos, ethos and pathos, and a non-fiction analysis of two speeches “Virginia Tech Memorial Convocation Condolences Offered by President Bush” and “The President Delivers a Statement on the Shooting in Oregon”. Both of them use the rhetorical modes very well, but Obama’s arguments are best, and in that way he seems most reliable, compared to George Bush. By using psychological conceptions, is the result that the childhood has a big influence on why these school shootings are happening. Lack of empathy leads to wickedness. At last, discusses the assignment based on the documentary “Bowling for Columbine” about how these school shootings can be prevent. The result is that we have to take care of the children who aren’t feeling good, and not making a more straighten gun law.
