I have interviewed the young inspiring man [NAVN A] who recently was nominated to a “Young people of the year” award.
Yesterday I visited [NAVN A] to surprise him, and tell him about his nomination.
Joel is sitting next to me smiling, and having a great time, I have just told him about his nomination he is very happy. But he wasn’t always this happy. Joel had a rough childhood, his mother was an addict and he didn’t know his father. His family was poor, and they were always in debt, because his mother needed her drugs. He struggled in school and were always bullied because he couldn’t read, the teacher ignored the bullying and didn’t help him at all, he was very sad. His mother also got a very abusive boyfriend who punched and beat his mother, and him.
but things got even worse.
When he was 15 he discovered his mother in their bath unconscious, she had planned a suicide and overdosed on her drugs, because her boyfriend had left her, but she was quickly moved to a hospital where they luckily saved her, but she was very ill for a while, and Joel was all alone. He wasn’t attending school at all and he were about to graduate.
